How to Dry Out Cell Phone With Rice

Dropped phone into the water? Here’s how to fix wet cell phone.



Fluid damaged mobile first aid.
If you dropped your phone into the water or if you spilled your drink on it, here’s  what to do first:

* WATER ( tap water,toilet water,drinking water)

What you will need:
– dry cloth or paper towels
– bag of uncooked rice
– plastic container
– toothpick or plastic knife or debit/credit card(optional)

1-Dry your phone with a dry cloth or paper towels.
2-If your phone is turned on, turned it off ASAP.
3- Remove :battery, memory card, SIM card .Dry them carefully and delicately with dry,clean paper towels.
4- Put battery, memory card, SIM card and the whole phone body separately in a container that is filled with uncooked rice
(it will absorb the moist). Put container in a warm place and leave it there for at least 24 hours.
5- After 24h check for any signs of moisture or steam under the screen. If it seems dry, put your phone back together and turn it on.

You might be unable to acces the battery in some mobiles. In those case put your whole mobile in a container filled with
uncooked rice. You can speed drying process up, by taking out the main board and lifting up LCD screen (from inside) .Use toothpick, credit card or plastic knife to do it. Do not use  any metal objects even if it seems handy! Leave toothpick between screen and touch panel, that will help air flow.

* SODA,JUICE,BEER, WINE,SOUP,SEA WATER.

What you will need:
– dry cloth or paper towels
– bag of uncooked rice
– plastic container
– toothpick or plastic knife or debit card(optional)
– distilled water or 98% alcohol or methylated spirit or  vodka or alternatively cooled boiled
water

1-Remove excess moist using dry cloth or strong paper towels.
2-If your phone is turned on, turned it off ASAP.
3- Remove :battery, memory card, SIM card. Dry them carefully and delicately with dry, clean paper towels. Look for the grease spots, don’t wipe them off the surface, wait till towels absorb as much grease and moist as possible.
Remove the main board.
4-Rinse your phone body with 98% alcohol or distilled water (you can find it in the automotive shop) or  cooled boiled water.
5-Put your phone in a container that is filled with uncooked rice. Put container in a warm place and leave it there for at least 24 hours.
6- After 24h check for any signs of moisture or steam under the screen. If it seems dry, put your phone back together and turn it on.

Do NOT ever use: microvawe, hob, oven, blowdryer to dry your soaked mobile !

  1. What a great idea and saver. I wish I knew this before drowning my old phone. Remember no more beaver butts, poor little creatures killed for their butts! Ewwwwwwwwwww!
