Kitchen update

That’s how our kitchen looked like when we’ve received the keys (two months ago).

That’s how it looks like now.

No big changes here. But white kitchen walls look a little more cheerful now.

We’ve hung some funny vintage ads and chalkboard on the wall.

  1. Your kitchen looks lovely! I love your spotty mugs!

    Best wishes,
    Natasha in Oz

  2. My husband and I (American) are contemplating moving to Edinburgh to assist our (nurse) daughter care for her young son who has autism. We’re on a fixed income and from what I see and hear you say about the real estate market there, there seems to be a sudden run on affordable living! We have always owned our homes we’ve lived in, and the idea of someone being able to ask us to move at their whim is more anixety than I care to take on at our age. Is it very expensive to buy as well? I love your Blog…just found it thru My Romantic Home that I’ve followed for years. Good luck with the apartment hunt…I’m going to follow you guys and see how well everything works out! And I understand hubby needing room for storage. I hope you get that garden space! There’s nothing like growing your own food! Buy organic seeds or starts…NO GMO-right?! Best wishes, Nonni

    • Nonni, Thank you for your sweet comment!
If you want to ‘test the waters’, I recommend these sites: http://www.citylets.co.uk/(for renters) and http://www.zoopla.co.uk/ (for buyers).
You can browse through all the options and find what works best for you πŸ™‚
House prices at the moment: from 214581.25 $ (1 bedroom cottage etc) to 557960.00 $ (3 or 4 bedrooms). Sometimes half that price, when you’re buying 40 minutes away from Edinburgh!
I hope your daughter will find all the help she needs!
      PS-Yes! Definitely -NO GMO! πŸ™‚
      Hugs,
      Mila
