Bedroom decorating ideas- part 2

It turns out our bed is more hot chocolate with a pinch of gravel than latte. And it’s not a mistake, that’s an actualย bed color. That is what you get from buying stuff online. These range of beds is only available online, no showroom to go, no shop assistants to annoy. I still like the ‘new’ color, but it turned my bedroom color concept upside down.

I don’t know who drinks a latte that looks like that? ๐Ÿ˜‰

How the bed looks on the internet:

Thoughts on the loose:

Skip the ‘Nighthawks’? Hang grey wall art instead?

Decor using more greyish stuff ? Including lampshade.

This lampshade seems fine online, but do I want to know how mushroom grey actually looks like? ๐Ÿ™‚

Choose latte bedding/lampshade to mix things up?

Stick with grey?

ย Mix things up even more and choose grey nightstands with latte drawer? Or is it too weird?

I wanted wooden furniture for this room, but I’m not sure it will fit now… Don’t get me wrong, greyish tones are awesome, but what about my sad and lonely bookshelf …

bedroom decor

It’s one of the…. well, actually, it’s theย only furniture piece in the house that I don’t want paint or spray paint. My contradictory nature never fails me.

And what do you think about mirrored nightstands!? Cool or tacky?

Also, Iย would like to buy one of these mirrors at some point (but much cheaper of course;)). They are very art deco.

Tell me what you think in the comments ๐Ÿ™‚

  1. Mila, I’m sorry, but that does not look like latte. I think they sent you the wrong bed. I really like those mirrored stands and the mirrors. Have you made a decision on which mirror you want?

  2. It’s always a bummer when something isn’t what you expect, but I actually really like the color! I think adding mirrored nightstands would be a fun and classy touch that could open up and brighten your space! Can’t wait to see what you do!

  3. wow, that’s definitely much darker than pictured โ€” not latte-like at all! Did they perhaps send you the darker color by mistake?

I think you can still do wooden furniture, particularly if it’s a slightly lighter and warmer brown. For the sheets and lamps though, I’d go all white, to add some light. I recently switched to white bedding myself and it is crazy to think, but my burgundy bedding was stealing so much light! You can always add a pop of fun with some patterned throw pillows.

Sorry you are disappointed about the bed!

Oh, and the mirrored nightstands… I’d say undecided. I think they might be cool in the right setting, but I’d go for something in a very minimalistic shape.

Have fun decorating! It’s so much fun. I did little bits in my bedroom a few months ago but I’m planning to turn it all around in the fall ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Hi Elisa ๐Ÿ™‚
      Thanks for visiting and commenting!
We’ve assembled the bed and it looks so much better (and lighter!) in the bedroom.
I agree – the lighter, the better!
I would like this bedroom to be as mellow as possible ๐Ÿ™‚
