50 shades of…

…lampshades! (Wow, that was ‘clever’ 😉

Recently, I went bonkers for yellow, so that’s what I’m looking for when it comes to shades and other decorative features.

yellow lampshades

Coral, orange and turquoise are awesome too!

Love the chevron zig pattern!

And what in the name of all decor is that?! 😀

Weird, stretched, orange turtleneck lampshade thingy…
Find from Austin Powers’ garage sale ? 😀

This one, on the other hand, is perfect! Not too old school but still has 70′ feel to it.
Love the cheerful, citrus tone!

As I mentioned, there are three light fittings quite close to each other in the living room/kitchen area.

So, as for now, that’s what I’m planning to do :

Here’s hubbs’ version. Angles and all 🙂

And there’s the standing lamp issue. We need one standing lamp. Preferably close to sofa (stay tuned for sofa update!).

My original plan was:

hemma lamp base

….plus funky, yellow, small, no-pattern lampshade.

But I can’t find decent one to match  Johnny Lewis citrus shade, so now I’m thinking about this one:

It’s cheap, size is perfect and we can always change shade for more colorful.

Let me know what you think!

  1. Yellow adds cheer to the home. I like the first two shades in the top photo. Both you and your husband’s photoshop skills are adorable! I would go for three light fixtures of the same design for the ceiling (I’m not so adventurous!) but might opt for different shade colours. The floor lamp is cute!

  3. I love the yellow one that you chose, you could go with it and a coordinating shade. Cool thing about shades you can always change them out when you change your decor. Have fun with it!

I’ll be honest not sure about the metal ones. It’s hard though having to find 3 shades!
